“You are the ones who play music in the roundabout, if you continue with the truck shit you’re going to dawn floating in the Paraná because with the neighbors we raised 1000 dollars each and hired ten Paraguayans.”

In these terms, according to a complaint filed with the Campo Viera police station, a well-known businessman and honorary consul threatened a group of young people on the grounds of the National Tea Festival.

The event was recorded last Friday and the recipients of the alleged threat were five young people between the ages of 16 and 19.

In the dialogue with El Territorio, the father of one of the minors that was part of the group expressed great concern about the actions of the person involved, identified as Miguel S., for which reason he requested guarantees for the safety of his son and his friends.

“We are as surprised as we are outraged, and the truth is that we are afraid because this man is known for handling himself with great arrogance. What he said was very serious, it was a clear death threat against the boys, that is why we filed the complaint and we hope that the criminal justice system and all the authorities will act accordingly ”, remarked Héctor Sobotka (49).

To put the situation in context, he commented that at the end of the year his son and friends got together to listen to music at the roundabout accessing the town, other neighbors joined and there were no incidents, as corroborated by the local police station.

“The second weekend of January they did the same and everything was normal. Even the police came by twice and they didn’t say anything,” said the father.

But already in the following week he was notified that three neighbors reported disturbing noises.

In this regard, he explained that “to avoid further inconvenience, the boys met with the mayor and he gave them permission to hold the meeting in a sector of the roundabout. They got back together, the police were present and there were no problems either”.

In this context, last Friday night the same group of friends went to the Tea Party, where they ran into Miguel S., accused of being the author of the threat.

In this sense, Sobotka mentioned that in the first instance the businessman asked them if they were the boys who play music in the roundabout “because of how stupid they look,” he would have opined.

“And there he told them ‘look, if you are going to continue with that, we together with the neighbors will raise a thousand dollars each and hire ten Paraguayans, so at any moment you will be floating in the Paraná.’ When the boys wanted to record him, he withdrew from the place, ”he said.

After the incident, several of the youths told their parents what had happened and filed the corresponding complaints for death threats.

Also yesterday, two other victims went to the police station to report the case, which they could not specify because they were informed that there was no officer on duty, so that they would only finalize the process today.

In recent days, meanwhile, countless people have repudiated the act on social networks and anticipated the holding of a march demanding justice under the slogan “Enough of impunity in Campo Viera.” The Territory, for its part, tried until the closing of this edition to communicate with the defendant, but received no response.
