It will be strange to think so but, in some countries, for example, Christmas is not celebrated. In other places, then, there are such particular natural scenarios that offer the possibility of living unforgettable experiences.
When visiting a foreign country it is always good learn about customs and traditions in order not to make gaffes and bad impressions. Even more important is then know the laws well of a particular country. In fact, each State has its own laws which it is good to know. In reality, this is not the case everywhere. For example, did you know that there is one place in Europe that has no laws?
Christiania neighborhood in Copenhagen
In the center of capital of Denmarkis found the Free City of Christiania. In practice it is a self-managed hippie neighborhoodknown for thebohemian atmosphere and the sale of soft drugs such as hashish and marijuana.
Christiania is considered an independent territory from Denmark as well as from the European Union. Suffice it to say that, before leaving the neighborhood, you come across a sign with the inscription: “You are now entering the EU”.
How to reach Christiania
It is easy to reach Christiania because, as already mentioned, it is located in the central Copenhagen, less than 4 kilometers from the central station and from Tivoli, the most famous amusement park in the city. Taking advantage of a beautiful day, you can take a walk of about 50 minutes and admire, along the way, some splendid buildings of the Danish capital, such as the Christiansborg Palacethe Vor Frelsers KirkeThe Thorvaldsen Museum and theold stock exchange.
The main entrance is on Prinsessegade. You enter the city by passing under a wooden arch. Once past the entrance, we find a café, the market, the post office, a restaurant and some art workshops.

Since the 1970s, Christiania has been a self-managed neighborhood. The approximately 1,000 inhabitants who still live there today lead a life based on principles such as collaboration, open air art and recycling. The inhabitants of Christiania they don’t pay taxes and therefore, here, the products are much cheaper than in the rest of Copenhagen. Anarchy, however, does not mean chaos and freedom at 360 degrees.
Through a democratic confrontation, the local inhabitants have established good norms, rules and prohibitions to which everyone is called to comply, including visitors. In Christiania cars are prohibited; it can only be accessed on foot or by bicycle. I am weapons and hard drugs are banned. Tourists are called to respect the privacy of those who live there and, therefore, it is taking pictures is prohibited.
It’s interesting to know that Christiania has its own flag: three yellow circles arranged side by side, horizontally, on a red background. The inhabitants of Christiania have also chosen theirs hymna protest song by the rock band Bifrost.
