The Colombian Military Forces have found the footprints of a police dog, lost during the search, along with those of the children who disappeared in the jungle. On May 1, an aircraft with three adult passengers – who died in the accident – and four children crashed in the southern part of the country.

The Colombian authorities maintain the hypothesis that the four childrenbetween 13 and one year old, would be lost in the jungle and could be accompanied by the police dog that disappeared several days ago in the middle of the search operations.

The ground mission commander’Operation Hope’, Fausto Avellaneda, has explained that they have found the footprints of a dog and that of a child: «We believe that he is with them. It would be spectacular. He would make them good company,” he told the Colombian media.

The dog, a Belgian shepherd trained in search and rescue, was one of the dogs that collaborated with the Military Forces from the beginning. The dog participated in the search for the crashed plane when it had not yet been located.

From the Twitter of the Military Forces they explain that the dog would have been disoriented by the terrain conditions. “More than 100 uniformed members of our Special Forces remain in the search area, with a military canine pairing and two more from the Civil Defense who entered earlier this week to support them,” they say from the social network.
