A week after his disappearance, police forces found Gianluca Tiziano Maschio Zapata, the 8-year-old boy who had been taken away by his parents, who had lost custody due to repeated cases of verbal and psychological violence against the minor. The finding, reported by the Bell Ville Fair Instruction Prosecutor, occurred in Gobernador Virasoro, Corrientes. The child is in good condition.

After the arrest of Carolina del Valle Zapata and Gustavo Gerardo Maschio, the boy’s parents, the prosecutor’s office is working to transfer the minor to Córdoba, the province where he lives with his grandfather, Eduardo Omar Rodríguez -who has custody- in the town of Mount Corn.

Gianluca Tiziano Maschio Zapata had been seen for the last time on Sunday, January 22, at 11 a.m., at a service station in Monte Maíz, when he was leaving for the town of Isla Verde, in the Marcos Juárez department, together with his parents.

At first, according to the child’s grandfather, there was data that could locate the child in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo, since his son-in-law has several friends in that area of the City of Buenos Aires. However, from the Justice they had not confirmed this clue and continued pointing towards the north of the country with their final destination in Brazil.

The investigators had the information provided by a trucker who would have transferred the couple and the minor to Entre Ríos. Days ago, judicial sources confirmed to this medium that the final destination would have been the neighboring country.

Thus, in dialogue with Infobae, Ricardo Daniel Zapata, Gianluca’s grandfather, who had legal custody of the minor and who reported the disappearance of the family, stated that “the strangest thing is that they had installed the idea that when they are all together they They were going to live in Brazil. That idea was always installed. I did not want to put spokes in the wheel so that the baby could be with his parents, ”said the grandfather.

The clue to this destination had emerged from the fact that it was known that the family lived in the city of Rio de Janeiro when the baby was barely one year old. In any case, the conditions on Brazilian soil were not the best, since they lived on the streets.

At that time, after a while, the family decided to return to Argentina until, when he was three years old, the minor was separated from his parents due to the mistreatment he suffered.

It was the year 2018 when Zapata and Maschio lost custody of their son, however, after several attempts to reconnect with the child, the provincial Justice authorized them to comply with a visitation regime to reestablish the relationship with the minor.

It was within the framework of this situation that the parents decided to take their son. In addition, it was learned that the cell phone that the couple used to communicate is no longer in their possession.

“The aforementioned parents did not have personal care for the child and, after a family reintegration visit, they never returned him to the home of Ricardo Daniel Zapata, the grandfather who is the guardian of the child,” reported the Córdoba Public Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the child’s grandfather, the parents had told him that that Sunday they were going to spend the day at a club and at 4:00 p.m. they would meet again for the child to return home, which did not happen.

From then on, the Bell Ville Investigation Prosecutor issued an arrest warrant against Zapata and Maschio and raised a “Sofía” alert, the rapid emergency system to coordinate the immediate search and location of missing minors, whose lives are considered at risk. “imminently high risk”.
