CDMX.- The manager and founder of the Menudo group, Edgardo Díaz, is being investigated for sexually abusing a member of the band, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

“We can confirm that a report has been taken and that it is an ongoing investigation,” he said.

Menudo was made up of Ricky Martin, Roy Roselló, Draco Rosa, Ricky Meléndez, René Farrat, Charlie Massó and Xavier Serbía, who could be one of Díaz’s alleged victims.

This is the first time that Edgardo Díaz has been accused of sexual abuse, which has caught the attention of his followers, since it is common to see that Díaz supports social movements such as Me Too.

A few weeks ago, the singer Roy Roselló assured that the executive José Menéndez raped him in his youth when he was 14 years old and was part of the Menudo band.

In recent years, documentaries and interviews have revealed the many things that the members of Menudo had to go through, such as labor exploitation, assault and sexual abuse. In the docuseries Menéndez + Menudo: Boys Betrayed they will reveal more about their past.
