They locate 148 abandoned migrants in a trailer

In recent hours, Mexican authorities reported the location of 148 migrants who were abandoned in a trailer, even on the side of the Minatitlán Córdoba highway in the jurisdiction of Veracruz.

According to reports, they were from Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras who were overcrowded and dehydrated.

They identified 44 family units made up of 115 people, as well as 10 adults and 23 unaccompanied minors.

Authorities indicated that they provided humanitarian assistance to vulnerable groups and also verified their state of health, proceeding to take them to the facilities of the National Institute of Migration to carry out the respective immigration procedures.

They added that the unaccompanied minors and the family nuclei were protected by the System for the Integral Development of the Family and the Office of the Attorney for the Defense of Minors in the entity and proceed with the immigration process.

They conclude that the driver of the trailer fled, so the transport was made available to the corresponding federal authorities.
