A terrible event destroyed a family from La Plata and that is that two of its members died in a tragic traffic incident that occurred on Route 86, about 35 kilometers from the town of Laprida. Over there, the Peugeot 206 in which a 44-year-old woman, her 11-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old teenager (the driver’s nephew) were traveling, got lost and ended up crashing into a culvert located on the shoulder and at the entrance to a field.
According to police sources, the mother and the little girl lost their lives on the spot. Both lived in the city and were identified as Virginia Etcheverry de Besombes, 44 years old; and Pilar Besombes, 11. The husband and father of the victims, respectively, is the chief commissioner of the Buenos Aires Police, Diego Besombeswho moved to the place immediately.
The experts indicated that for reasons that are still being determined, the car in which the family from La Plata was traveling lost control and traveled several meters on the shoulder, until it crashed into a huge culvert at the entrance to a field, in a crash that was fatal. . It was later learned that they were heading towards Coronel Suárez, where the driver was from; and that her pet also died in the accident.
It should be noted that the 15-year-old boy, who survived the impact, got out of the vehicle by his own means and was transferred to the “Pedro S. Sancholúz” Municipal Hospital of Laprida, where he was found to have a fractured humerus in his left arm, being admitted to the intensive care unit (UTI) under psychological care and assistance.
In turn, the bodies of both fatalities were transferred to the morgue in the Buenos Aires city of Azul to carry out an autopsy operation to determine what happened. The Laprida Volunteer Fire Department, personnel from the Pedro Sancholuz municipal hospital, the Rural Prevention Command and the Scientific Police intervened in the event.
