Mobility It is today one of the great issues to be resolved, whether it concerns people in general or in the corporate world. Currently, when many of the tasks can be solved remotely, Facilitating the arrival at the office for collaborators is key.

To solve this problem Grupo Traslada was born 28 years ago. It is a national and family SME, founded by the Carrara brothers. The first outline of the firm was something more like a remittance store, which at that time was going through a boom, but they wanted to give it a twist and make it 100% corporate.

“They understood that it was going to be a less seasonal client, unlike the business that targeted the final consumer. They knew that they would have work all year round and that this type of client was more solid. Shortly after they were summoned to a tender to make the transfers of the delegations of the Annual Assembly of the Inter-American Bank”, recalls its current CEO, Gonzalo Santander.

This good news implied a challenge: to respond to the demand they needed 80 cars and two vans, and they only had 5 vehicles working. That starting point was the key to underpinning steady growth.

They were successful? Of course yes, so much so in 2022 they exceeded 1,600 million pesos in turnoverand transported close to 3 million people, with a growth of more than 30% in the number of trips.

How did they transform a remisería into a mobility company?

Grupo Traslada focuses both on the transfer of employees, as well as passengers who hire services from a company or to move staff to an event.

Renewing the fleet, one of the concerns of Grupo Traslada.

All our solutions stand out for their technological innovation, that They have their own IT development team dedicated to the launch of new functionalities and projects and also for its strategic contribution to the control and optimization of resources”, highlights Santander.

Through the apps and/or web, companies can access detailed information on the expenses allocated to the mobility area, as well as movements of each trip and have reports and monitoring tools in real time in a personalized way and according to the requirements of each client.

And far from what can be thought, for this firm the pandemic was an opportunity: “We began to provide logistics solutions existing customers of the Group. With the advent of the pandemic, we knew how to anticipate market demands, such as seeing at what time the transfer of work items is most needed,” says Santander.

This way, During the first year of the pandemic, it distributed more than 50,000 notebooks, 70,000 ergonomic chairs, and 80,000 sanitizing kits.

In the same way, part of the secret of success lies in having correctly identified the passenger’s profile. “Since 2022, the movement of people has grown by 30% compared to the pre-pandemic. This creates many challenges for us due to market issues, vehicle availability, labor and more,” Santander details.

Cost of vehicles: a challenge for mobility

“Our activity, both in personnel transfers and in distribution, is seen affected by the lack of availability of vehicles. Product of the macroeconomic context, the value of 0km cars increased considerably, and added to the lack of availability of certain ranges and car segments, which hinder the activity”, details Santander.

Expand the range of services, one of the keys of Grupo Traslada to continue growing.

In addition, it should be noted that Argentina went through a transformation process in mid-range vehicles, leaning towards vehicles known as SUVs. “The sedans, which were the traditional cars for passenger transfer services, many brands are discontinuing them or do not enter the countryand that makes it difficult to renew the fleet and update the models”, adds the CEO.

To this must be added “the constant increase in fuel the lack of tires and the increase in the cost of daily vehicle maintenance. We currently have greater demand for services than supply of vehicles to be able to adequately comply and with the customer experience that we would like, for which we are making investments and looking for alternatives that allow us to overcome these difficulties and be able to continue growing,” says Santander .

These difficulties also impact plans to improve sustainability indices. “We are working so that 30% of the fleet is made up of hybrid vehicles by 2030“, says the manager.

To which he adds: “We also deepened our sustainability policy, boosting work on algorithms that automatically and intelligently assign trips to vehicles, to further reduce idle kilometers on a daily basis, and thus continue optimizing their efficiency”.

In this way managed to save up to 20% fuel and carbon emissionswhile with the allocation of intelligent trips they managed to ensure that vehicles circulate 85% of the time with a passenger on board, thus avoiding idle circulation.
