The Prosecutor’s Office claims a five-year prison sentence in the trial held at the Provincial Court

The Court of Alicante judges this Tuesday the representative of a credit institution accused of defrauding an elderly couple during a loan operation to buy a farm in the town of Polop. The victims went to the defendant’s company on the advice of the owner of the real estate agency where they were going to buy the farm.

According to the information on the case provided by the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community, the injured parties obtained a loan of 213,000 euros that they would receive in various checks. The Prosecutor’s Office maintains that the defendant took advantage of the age of marriage to keep 88,000 euros of the loan and requests for him a five-year prison sentence for a crime of fraud.

Trial for fraud in a courier company

On the other hand, the Court of Alicante will judge on Thursday a man and a woman accused of defrauding an express courier company of which he was the owner of two delegations in franchise mode, one inAlicante and another in San Vicenteand she is an employee of one of them.

The events occurred between 2012 and 2015 when, according to the public prosecution, the accused defrauded the parent company of more than 1.25 million euros by falsifying fictitious income for services to cash on delivery that the head office should return them. The Prosecutor’s Office requests for each of them a four-year prison sentence for the crimes of fraud and falsehood.
