Soft drink consumption is worldwide, according to data from the Statista Consumer Market Outlook, only in 2021, approximately 358 thousand 800 million liters of soft drinks were consumed worldwide.

And according to data from Yale University, Mexico is the first consumer of soft drinks in the world with an average of 163 liters per person per year, which means 40 percent more than the United States, which, in turn, occupies the second place with 118 liters.

Likewise, data from the National Institute of Public Health shows that, on average, a Mexican family allocates 10 percent of its total income to the purchase of soft drinks, 24 percent to other food and beverages, and 66 percent to housing, education, and clothing, among others.
