Thunderstorms and rain are forecast for Monday afternoon

MIAMI.- After several days without precipitation, meteorologists predict the probability that thunderstorms will develop in South Florida after 2:00 in the afternoon this Monday, April 22, in addition to some rain.

According to NOAA’s forecast, “strong to severe storms are possible primarily over southeast Florida during the afternoon and evening.” Winds can reach 58 miles per hour.

Skies will remain mostly cloudy and there is an 80% chance of rain. These conditions are caused by the movement of a cold front through the region. However, pleasant temperatures are expected, close to 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

The main concerns for any severe storm that develops are strong gusts of wind, the possibility of hail and lightning, the weather note warns.

After the rains this Monday, for the rest of the week the weather will remain very calm, until next Friday, when some rainfall may fall.
