Tuesday presidential primaries in New York

This Tuesday the presidential primary elections take place in New York.

Although the results are predetermined, voters go to the polls to choose their party’s candidate.

Polling places will be open until 9 p.m.

Only 55,000 New Yorkers voted early.

It is not clear what the turnout will be on this election day.

Both President Biden and former President Trump have already secured enough delegates to win the nomination.

New York is one of four states holding primary elections on April 2.

Donald Trump needed 1,215 delegates to secure his nomination, but he already has just under 1,700 before the current vote takes place.

For his part, Joe Biden needed 1,968 delegates but has already exceeded 2,600.
