Twitter becomes X to redirect its business to online commerce and payments

Elon Musk has announced changes to Twitter, which will change its name to ‘X’ and that it will consolidate itself as a platform “focused on audio, video, messaging, payments” powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI). The owner of Twitter commented in October last year through his profile that buying the application would be “an accelerator” to create a super application that he would call ‘X’.

Months later, Slate announced that Musk had created two new companies, X Holdings Corp. and X Corp., which were added to those registered in April 2022, X Holdings I, II and III, three independent companies that would facilitate their purchase on Twitter.

Elon Musk announced this Sunday the official change of Twitter to ‘X’ and commented that he will modify the famous icon of the current bird “to embody the imperfections” of the social network and announced what the format of his new logo would be.

For her part, the CEO of Twitter, Linda Yaccarino, has supported this information by also sharing on her profile the image of the new logo, which has been projected on the façade of the company’s offices, located in San Francisco (United States).

The directive has suggested that with this makeover Twitter has had “a second chance to make another great impression and that it is “the future of unlimited interactivity, focused on audio, video, messaging, payments / banking”.

With this, he has qualified that with the new version of the platform he is “creating a global market for ideas, goods, services and opportunities”, anticipating that it will be driven by AI to “connect everyone”.

Finally, he has mentioned the changes that he has introduced in the last eight months« and has said that the company has already begun to see that the application »takes shape«, although for the moment they are just »beginning« with the new functionalities introduced.

“There is no limit to this transformation. X will be the platform that can offer … well, everything », added Yaccarino, who already sports this new icon next to the blue badge on his account profile.
