Cuban authorities detained two alleged thieves when they were stealing 10 sacks of sugar from Central Washington, in Villa Clara.
A report of the official profile in Facebook “Fuerza del Pueblo” indicates that forces from the Ministry of the Interior were visiting “places prone to crime” and reinforcing “protection in warehouses and state entities where food of vital importance to the population is stored,” when “they detected In fraganti two thieves who stole 10 sacks of sugar from Central Washington”, located in the Santo Domingo municipality.
The detainees were identified as Roberto Matos and Yanniel Martínez.
Both will be prosecuted for this crime, clarifies the publication.
He adds that the merchandise was returned to the center.
Last March, more than 35 workers from the sugar mill Mario Muñoz Monroy, in the Los Arabos municipality, Matanzas, for stealing sugar, official media reported on that occasion.

The shortage of sugar and its excessive price in the informal market have led to increasingly frequent robberies in sugar mills in Cuba.
Large shipments have been recovered in several provinces after thefts from sugar mills occurred, which affects the already critical sugar production in the country.
