US President Joe Biden, who plans to run for a second term, will meet with wealthy Democratic Party supporters in New York and Philadelphia.

US President Joe Biden, not yet in the campaign but very openly flirting with a candidacy for the 2024 election, will participate in two fundraising events next week, said a source in the Democratic camp.

The octogenarian leader will be in New York next Tuesday, then in Philadelphia on Friday, meeting wealthy supporters to fill his party’s coffers.

“The Intention to Represent”

These fundraisers are essential in American political campaigns, watered with hundreds of millions of dollars. And little by little, the architecture of a possible candidacy of the octogenarian leader begins to take shape.

In December, the president had already convinced the Democratic Party to completely disrupt the calendar of its primaries, strengthening the influence of the African-American vote which had been very favorable to him in 2020.

Joe Biden has so far said he “intends to run” for president in 2024, and has promised to make his decision public at the start of the year.

Political experts are predicting a possible announcement after his State of the Union address, a traditional general policy speech by presidents given to parliamentarians, and scheduled for February 7.
