Lima Peru.- Dozens of students joined the demonstrations against the government of Dina Boluarte and took over the facilities of the University of San Marcos, in Lima, this Wednesday morning.

According to local media, the few classes that were available were suspended. The rector of the University declared in a radio program that it is “a group of students.”

“They are not all. The vast majority of students do not agree with this decision, because they take care of their heritage. As we are in a state of emergency, it is the authorities who have to take the pertinent measures to be able to safeguard the heritage of the Dean of America”, indicated Jeri Ramón.

It was also reported that the students receive within the facilities hundreds of protesters who arrive from different remote parts of the country to demand today and tomorrow the resignation of the President and a new Constitution, the event is already known as “The taking of Lima” .

“We make an extensive call to the student community and the general public to offer their solidarity support through donations to cover the food and lodging of our colleagues who are fighting,” said the San Marcos University Federation on Facebook.

The rector had asked the Police to remove the protesters. However, the request was suspended to set up a dialogue table.

Meanwhile, the authorities continue to deploy police officers at different points.

The President assured that she is willing to dialogue with the protesters who travel from different parts of the country to the capital.

“We know that they want to take Lima, because of everything that is appearing on the networks. I call on them to take Lima, yes, but in peace, calmly. I wait for them at the Government House to be able to discuss the social agendas they have” , said the President.
