Myles Jack, former Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars player, surprised everyone this Sunday by announcing his early retirement from the NFL at age 27assuring that he hopes to dedicate himself and learn the profession of electrician or plumbing.
Jack suddenly made the decision two weeks after signing a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, the team he had been training with since the start of the NFL preseason.
Regarding his decision, he assured that having earned a very good salary in the seven years while he was active has invited you to look for other professions that can help you defend yourself in life.
“I like to work so I couldn’t just sit at home. I have been lucky enough to earn a lot of money and I want to be innovative. If a zombie apocalypse were to come, I want to be able to build something with some trade like plumber or electrician. After all, time waits for no one,” Jack said.
The linebacker had already been active last Thursday in the game of week two of the preseason in which his team tied 18-18 against the Cleveland Browns.
throughout his career Jack has earned just over $50 million since entering the league in the 2016 Draft. in which he was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round.
With this team he signed his largest contract. He did it for $57 million in the 2019 season.a contract that was won after he exploded with 90 tackles in 2017 and 107 more in the 2018 campaign.
Since his arrival in the NFL, the linebacker has dealt with a torn ligament injury in his knee, which he had carried with him since his time with the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), with which he shone in college football.
Despite that problem, the defensive back spent six seasons with the Jaguars and one with the Steelers.
In seven seasons he had 617 tackles, 7 sacks, 20 passer hits, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and one touchdown in 103 regular-season games.
