– We are not going to do that, he said during a press breakfast on Tuesday.

According to Vestre, the fixed price is “plan A, B and C”. He makes it clear that he rejects all other proposals now and says the government must have ice in its stomach on this.

At the same time, Vestre points out that the price of fixed-price offers has now fallen below the krone, even for the shortest fixed-term periods.

– Throughout the autumn, we have worked very actively to get the fixed price market started. I have been accused of one thing and another throughout the autumn, but I have said that I think the fixed prices will come well below the krone. Now we see that they have fallen significantly in price, Vestre said.

He believes prices will continue to fall.

– And that is what can give our companies predictability over time. That is why I reject all other publishers now.

The Conservative Party wants financial support

Høyre’s business policy spokesperson Lene Westgaard-Halle reacts strongly to the move.

– It is quite incredible that Vestre does not see the seriousness of the situation. The business community is struggling and has repeatedly expressed that the fixed price agreements do not hit well enough. Norwegian companies need better fixed price agreements and extended electricity support, she says.

She asks several questions about the way the fixed price agreements are set up. The Conservative Party’s proposal is to continue with pure financial support.

– The companies have had a temporary electricity support scheme, the energy subsidy scheme, which has now ended. There are many indications that there will be periods of very high electricity prices in the future as well. There is therefore a need for electricity support going forward for Norwegian companies, and the scheme must be more effective than the government’s scheme has been.

The West, on the other hand, accuses the Conservative Party of vacillating, where they have supported the fixed price solution one day, then demand more electricity support the next.

– I think that is “jump and bounce” policy. You cannot go from one solution to a completely different solution two days later, he said during the press breakfast.

Moxnes: – Completely backwards

Bjørnar Moxnes, party leader in Rødt, for his part fears layoffs and relocation if the government does not turn around.

– Vestre is presenting a completely backwards business policy here, he says.

– A number of countries have introduced price regulation on the price of electricity or support schemes for the industry. In Norway, we trust the market. It is a paradox when we actually have much cheaper electricity production than other countries.
