Vinicius and Militao, nominated for the Socrates Award in the Ballon d'Or

French Football announced last year the creation of an award, called ‘Socrates’, which would recognize the commitment to build a more just and inclusive society. The group l’quipethe organization peace and sports and the family of the ex-captain of the Brazilian team want to highlight the values ​​of the athletes.

And in this edition there are two Real Madrid players among the five nominees: Vinicius Junior and Antonio Rdiger join Asisat Oshoala, Alex Morgan and Marcus Rashford in the pool of candidates.

Vinicius is nominated for his work with the Instituto Vini Jr.which tries to provide pedagogical solutions in Brazil, a country with great inequalities and difficulties in accessing education. Rdiger, meanwhile, is nominated for the award thanks to his work in Sierra Leone to help the underprivileged.

With the Socrates there are seven awards that are delivered at the France Football gala.
