Lunen.
The police are looking for two men who attacked an inspector and the train driver on Friday evening. The incident happened in the RB51.

On a regional train on the RB51 line, two strangers hit a controller and the train driver, leaving them hospitalized. The 24-year-old had asked the two Russian-speaking young men to wear a mask on Friday evening around 10 p.m. shortly before they stopped at Lünen Central Station. Then she wanted to check the tickets.

Since the two did not have a valid ticket, she asked them to get off the train. As the train driver approached, one of the men punched him in the face. The other joined in the attack. Then he doused the train attendant with juice. The two men then opened a door and fled, the federal police reported on Monday. The train driver and the controller were so badly injured that they had to be taken to hospital.

Police officers secured the video recordings from the train. According to the description, both are said to be between 20 and 25 years old and have very short blond hair. The Federal Police Inspectorate in Dortmund accepts information from potential witnesses on the free service number 0800/6 888 000 or at any other federal police station. (talk to dpa)
