After the violent crime against an 80-year-old in Schöneiche (Oder-Spree), the police are hoping for information from witnesses. The woman had worked privately as a hairdresser, the police said on Wednesday.
A customer discovered her dead on her property in an outbuilding that she used as a salon. The crime happened the day before Christmas Eve, according to the police probably between 12.00 and 12.30 p.m. The woman’s grandson was taken into custody on suspicion of having committed a crime.
For further investigations, the police are still looking for witnesses who were in the area of Watenstädter Straße/Wittstockerstraße in Schöneiche at midday on December 23 or who passed through them. Every detail could be important, it said on Wednesday.
The police were able to stop the woman’s grandson, a 37-year-old German, in his car on Bundesstraße 1 near Vogelsdorf. The man then tried to violently snatch the service weapon from a police officer. A shot was fired that injured the suspect’s hand and thigh, the spokeswoman for the public prosecutor’s office said on Tuesday. Two police officers were also injured in the operation. (dpa)
