Vogue publishes work in the style of “The Devil Wears Fashion” in New York: assistant to Anna Wintour

As Miranda Priestly said: “Everybody wants to be us.” And now you will have your chance.

Vogue posted a position early last week for an assistant editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour. And while it may be the opportunity of a lifetime for those looking to break into the fashion industry, fans of “The Devil Wears Prada“, or in Spanish”The Devil Wears Prada“, are having flashbacks to Anne Hathaway’s character in the hit movie.

So what does the job entail? Well, the candidates will be responsible for the “management and coordination of meetings, events/engagements, special projects and the general flow of communication and information” for Vogue’s global head of content, aka Wintour.

Candidates will also be “extremely organized, efficient, deadline oriented, and able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, matrix digital media environment.” And while the job description doesn’t say so, applicants should perhaps be prepared to buy that Starbucks from the movie: a hot Starbucks. And hopefully they know how to spell Gabbana.

The listing says the person “may sometimes contribute to content assignments, research, and/or special projects.” She didn’t say anything about going to Paris, as Hathaway’s character Andy had to (or as Emily Blunt’s character Emily wanted so badly).

Details of applicants’ incompetence will not interest those who hire. Applicants need to act fast to submit their resumes: don’t move at a glacial pace, you know how exciting that is for recruiters.

Listed salary expectation was $60,000 to $80,000, with a college degree and 1-2 years of experience required.

That’s all.
