Kola Lokaone of the most important exponents of Cuban urban music, claimed to be the reggaeton duo that has hit the most songs in the Caribbean nation.
Angel Torres Callard (Angelón) and Yasser Robinson Puente (Robinsón) made the controversial statement during an interview offered to the program Destiny Tolkfrom the Dominican youtuber Dany Perez.
“People have already normalized it to see Kola Loka out of any type of ranking because we are not competition for none of those artists that are posted there,” Robinson explained when referring to the surveys carried out by the popular space where followers were asked about the best Cuban duos of the urban genre.
“What Kola Loka does is simply unique,” said the artist, who added that the duo’s flow is different.
For these musicians, the most important thing is not to fit into the taste scheme of whoever makes these surveys or any other, but to be in the preference of the dancing public.
“If you put ‘I don’t like my American desire’, ‘The little piece’, ‘A la my love’, ‘Cuba is missed’, ‘The vampire’ o ‘Toma voice‘People are going to dance to it, wherever, because they are classics of all time,’ he said.
Regarding the inside of the music industry, Torres asserted that it is much bigger than a television program or what people see.
In the United States, where there are people from various countries, is where “Kola Loka has shown that we have music capable of reaching any type of audience.”
Torres stated that the duo is the competition for any musical project that exists today in Miami.
Kola Loka is a successful Cuban fusion group, based on reggaeton, founded in Santiago de Cuba in 2001, although both members currently live in Miami.
The songs, written by its members, have a humorous tone, and most of the time they deal with social issues.
