The Quick Resume makes it easy to switch from one game to another, pausing the current game when launching a new title. Thus, when you return to the previous game, you pick up where you left off, thus avoiding having to restart the game.

This feature, although extremely popular with gamers, is currently limited to Microsoft consoles. However, according to a company executive, it could be extended to PCs in the more or less near future. This integration would facilitate navigation on portable consoles running Windows.

The idea of integrating the Quick Resume into Windows 11 was mentioned by Roanne Sones, director of the Xbox division, during the launch stream dedicated to the Asus ROG Ally console. According to her, it would be logical to do so in order to improve the experience on portable machines using this OS.

The integration of the Quick Resume would make the user experience more fluid, whether on the Ally or on Windows 11, thus approaching what the Nintendo Switch offers, for example. It remains to be seen if this functionality will really be integrated into Windows one day or if these words are just empty words. Adding it would be theoretically possible, but would require quite a bit of work.
