Indochine and Louise attack had threatened not to participate in the festival Les Déferlantes, if it was held in Perpignan, a city managed by the National Rally. The organizers agreed to change the venue.

The Déferlantes will ultimately not take place in Perpignan. After threats from the groups Indochine and Louise Attaque not to perform in a city run by the National Rally, the festival announces its decision to change location.

“Many of you have expressed yourselves and we have heard your different reactions”, note the organizers in a press release, specifying that “without artist, no festival”.

And to add: “We are taking all of these reactions into consideration. We are therefore forced to give up this location and we are now looking for a new place for the festival to be held in the Pyrenees. -Orientales on the scheduled dates.”

Find a new place

The organizations promise to work “hard” to find a site capable of accommodating “nearly 30,000 people per evening in suitable conditions”. A refund procedure will be put in place once the location is known.

Louise Attaque and Indochine had made it known by press releases that they did not wish to play the Déferlantes if the event was held in Perpignan, a city managed by Louis Aliot, figure of the National Rally.

The initial decision to change location from the town of Céret to the city of Perpignan had been taken by the organizers to improve the “comfort” of festival-goers and to adapt to the “ambitions of the festival”, said a press release from the festival.

In addition to Indochine and Louise Attaque, the festival must also welcome Shaka Ponk, David Guetta, Bigflo & OliSoprano, David Guetta and Sting.
