A woman was found with gunshot wounds in the basement of a family home in Zepernick (Barnim) on New Year’s morning.
According to the police, the 56-year-old was taken to a hospital by rescue workers. A 57-year-old was arrested as a suspect. According to RBB the suspect is said to be the victim’s partner. The homicide squad has started the investigation.
Whether there was an attempted homicide must be clarified as well as the motive for the crime, it said on Sunday. The woman’s injuries were initially assessed as not life-threatening. According to the police, a call was received at around 6:10 a.m. via the rescue control center. (tsp/dpa)
