If the announcement of XDefiant had neither hot nor cold for most players, the software still seems to enjoy a renewed appeal and consideration from the community.

Support for Destiny 2?

Currently playable by everyone, the open beta of the French publisher’s new baby seems to convince the majority of those who have tried it, so much so that some even present it as the most credible opponent of Call of Duty for the next few years. With its distinct class archetypes, its fairly extensive arsenal of weapons or even its mastered construction maps, XDefiant is effectively reminiscent of the Activision-Blizzard juggernaut, and this should be the case for many years…

Indeed, speaking during an interview with our MP1st media colleagues, Patrick Price, one of the game’s developers, confirmed that this was not an ordinary project and that Ubisoft had every intention of offering post-launch content over a long period of time:

It’s a title we plan to support for the long term by continually releasing new content. It is a central pillar for our title. Coming fans will know that this is something that has an enduring aspect to it, even though a lot of other titles come out and push their developers to move on. We want to focus on supporting the game for as long as we can.

Of course, it will not be enough to offer new updates to meet the expectations of fans and ensure that they do not turn to a competitor. We therefore hope for novelties mastered with real added value.

As a reminder, XDefiant is planned for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for 2023 and will be available completely free of charge.
