They distribute free clothes for the graduation party

Dozens of students chose their prom outfits without spending a dollar.

Catholic Charities held the annual Prom Giveaway on Saturday at the Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center in Washington Heights.

At the event, aimed at students in eighth through twelfth grades, they were able to choose a free set of outfits for their prom, including dresses, dress shirts, suits, shoes and ties.

Participants also enjoyed food and music.

“We are doing an activity of prom that helps the kids who are graduating to be able to go to their graduation well dressed and very elegant,” says Alejandra Martíne, from the Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center.
