Christiana, Delaware.— Three people were injured Saturday in a shooting at a Delaware mall that forced shoppers to evacuate the building as police investigate the incident.

Delaware State Police said authorities have not arrested a suspect in the Christiana Mall shooting in an upstate community near Pennsylvania.

“We can confirm that there are 3 victims who were injured by gunshots and have been taken to an area hospital for medical attention,” police tweeted. “There are currently no public safety concerns in and around Christiana Mall.”

The shopping center was evacuated and closed, detailed the police in a statement in which they asked the population to stay away from the place.

The three people were shot in the food court, authorities revealed to the WPVI-TV channel.

Police set up a meeting point at the north entrance of the mall for those trying to locate someone.

Authorities have offered no further details.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue to gather more details about this shooting,” the Delaware State Police said in a tweet.
