The year 2023 has already seen its farewell to some cars that made history in Brazil, such as the Volkswagen Gol, the also German Voyage and the Renault Sandero. And the nostalgia climate tends to increase in the coming months.

There are at least 6 more cars that will be discontinued in Brazil by December 2023, although not all have their retirement officially confirmed by the automakers involved — at least until this list is produced.

Check below which are the car models that already have their destiny traced and defined to leave the production line until the end of the year and, in the future, an empty space in the hearts of fans.

6. Chevrolet Cruze

Opening the list of cars that will be discontinued in 2023 is the Chevrolet Cruze. And the retirement will be double dose, since General Motors will stop selling both the hatch and sedan versions in Brazil.

The two Cruze models are produced at the Santa Fé factory, in Argentina, and imported here, but the drop in sales in 2023 (less than 400 units were sold by the end of April) brought the end of the line to the “Last of Moicanos” in the hatchback segment and for one of the most wronged sedans in the country.

5. Chevrolet Camaro

Another representative of General Motors ready to hang up the boots, or rather the tires, is the Chevrolet Camaro. O muscle car will have its last units produced at the Lansing Grand River plant, in Michigan (USA), and will end a beautiful history of more than 50 years in the market.

GM, however, is thinking of putting the Camaro back into play in the future, but as a totally different car, including the engine, which should be electric. The new version of muscle car can be made on the Ultium platform, which already gives rise to other electric models from GM: the Hummer EV and the Cadillac Lyriq.

4. Ford Mustang

The Ford Mustang is yet another representative of the muscle cars which is part of the list of those that will be discontinued in Brazil in 2023. Like the rival Camaro, it will not say a “definitive” goodbye to the market either, but it will close an important chapter.

The American automaker has already confirmed that the combustion version only has units in stock for sale in the country and, as for now there is no forecast for the arrival of the electric model here, December will mark, at least temporarily, the goodbye of the sports car to the Brazilian market.

3.Renault Captur

The Renault Captur, the French automaker’s compact SUV, will also cease to be manufactured in Brazil and will be discontinued in the country before the end of 2023. The car has already ceased to be manufactured at the plant located in São José dos Pinhais, metropolitan region from Curitiba.

The automaker intends to launch an electric SUV on the market — the Megane E-Tech —, and this should end up taking the place of the Captur here in Brazil.

2. Renault Logan

Another Renault representative whose days are numbered to be discontinued in Brazil in 2023 is Logan. The car has already undergone profound changes, but it did not help much.

The sedan, like the Captur, was not popular with the public and, between January and April, only 722 units were sold, according to Fenabrave. The São José dos Pinhais plant would also have stopped producing the car, according to behind-the-scenes information.

1. Chevrolet Bolt EUV

We leave to close the list of cars that will be discontinued in Brazil in 2023 with the most curious case of all: the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, SUV version of the compact Bolt.

Bolt EUV officially arrived in Brazil in May, shortly after having made its first appearance at the Lollapalooza festival, at the end of March.

Tested by Canaltechwhich even participated in the event in which the electric car set a new world record for autonomy, the Bolt EUV will have its production discontinued in the United States, as announced by GM’s own global CEO, Mary Barra.

The end of the Bolt EUV should pave the way for the arrival of new and larger SUVs in the Brazilian market, such as the Equinox and Blazer, both already confirmed in their electrified versions for the country.
