Alert for alleged loose lioness in Berlin;  residents are asked to stay in their homes

A wildlife concern has gripped the southern suburbs of Berlin as residents are warned to take precautions due to a suspected lioness on the loose.

German authorities have issued an alert, urging residents of and around Kleinmachnow, Teltow and Stahnsdorf to stay in their houses and avoid walking through the forest.

Following a sighting of a big cat chasing a wild boar, the Brandenburg State Police issued a warning to residents, alerting them not to leave their homes and to keep their pets inside.

The reports of possible sightings of lionesses they have prompted kindergartens to keep children away from surrounding gardens, and vendors have been advised not to set up stalls.

The warning has also been extended to the southern areas of Berlin, as the authorities take all measures to address the situation.

Intensive police operation to locate the lioness
