Earlier, we were talking to you about the latest historical results of turnover achieved by Focus Entertainment. This good progress is notably due to the success of several games, including Atomic Heart, which exceeded initial expectations.
Mundfish’s project far exceeded the French publisher’s expectations
Indeed, the latest report published by Focus tells us that the significant growth observed over the last fiscal year was mainly driven by the results of six games, including Atomic Heart, which exceeded the group’s expectations.
“Four of these games were released during the year and confirm Focus’ AA strategic positioning and premium gaming experience, as well as the successful acquisition of Dotemu: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, A Plague Tale: Requiem and Evil West, an IP co-owned with Flying Wild Hog. Finally, developed by Mundfish and released during the last quarter of the financial year, Atomic Heart achieved commercial performance that exceeded the group’s initial expectations. »
As a reminder, this is an FPS developed by the Russian studio Mundfish, taking place in a Soviet alternative reality, where players embody a security agent sent to investigate a disaster in a secret laboratory.
Focus Entertainment’s revenue for the 2022/23 financial year therefore reached a historic level of 194.1 million euros, at the top of the range announced by the group, i.e. growth of +36.2% compared to compared to the previous year.
The studio is particularly responsive and attentive to feedback from the community, and it should continue to improve the gaming experience in the coming months. DLCs are also already planned, as well as a sequel.
