Barry, the series that follows the life of a hitman who dreams of becoming an actor, is saying goodbye to fans once and for all. HBO’s original dark comedy-drama is created and stars actor and comedian Bill Hader, and has become one of the studio’s most acclaimed.

By the end of Season 3, things had turned sour for Barry, with the situation getting even darker and more complicated. In the lives of the supporting characters of the series, such as Sally (Sarah Goldberg), Hank (Anthony Carrigan) and Cristobal (Michael Irby), many things still need to be concluded, which has been making the anxiety for the new episodes even greater.

The series Barry returns for its fourth and final season, earning weekly episodes. But what can we expect from the new season of the plot? Will Barry get away with the crimes he committed? And Sally’s career, did it go downhill? See what to expect!

Warning: This article contains spoilers for the first three seasons of Barry!

Barry: what to expect from the final season?

As the last episodes of Barry already indicated, things got darker than ever, with the gangs getting more dangerous, more people dying and a lot of chaos going on. At the end of season 3, Barry is finally arrested for the death of detective Janice Moss (Paula Newsome) after falling into an ambush. The new episodes, then, should show what the consequences of prison will be on the protagonist’s life and how it will affect the people around him.

Sally, for example, must feel even more betrayed by her ex-boyfriend, as she had no idea he was a murderer. But as the actress’s life is not going well, she can choose to stay by her side because she has nothing left to lose. Gene must also have his life completely changed with Barry’s arrest, as he will finally feel that he has seen justice done for the death of Janice, with whom he was dating.

In the lives of Hank and Cristobal, the couple seems happier than ever, even though they are involved in dangerous activities and are at risk at all times. The season should bring more evidence to them, as they bring the funniest moments of the series.

The series can still go both ways: either Barry will accept that his destiny is prison, or he will continue to fight to get away with the crimes he committed. Regardless of the choice, season 4 should still shed a lot of blood while entertaining us with dialogue and comic situations, a combination that the series has always delivered very well.

Barry: trailer
