Cristiano Ronaldo caused quite a stir when he joined Al-Nassr earlier in the year.

Following the 37-year-old’s move, there was speculation that other big names in European football could soon join Ronaldo. In the past few days there have been rumors about Luka Modrić and Sergio Ramos, whom he still knows from their days together at Real Madrid.

And now there is another name from Germany, of all places. As the English “Daily Mail” reports, Dortmund’s captain and national player Marco Reus could also switch to Al-Nassr.

BVB: Reus is not yet thinking about the end of his career

His contract with BVB expires in the summer, so he could leave the club free of charge. Sports director Sebastian Kehl has already explained that they want to sit down with the offensive star at the beginning of the year to talk about the future.

Reus has been playing for his youth club since 2012 and has played 368 competitive games in which he scored 156 goals.

There could have been more games for BVB, but the attacking star has to struggle with unbelievable bad luck with injuries. In the current season alone, he has already missed eleven games due to injury, including the last games before the World Cup break.

“BVB is my club, Dortmund is my hometown and I would like to end my career here,” he said months ago. This was also made clear by his advisor Detlev Hebe in an interview with “Bild am Sonntag”.

Despite the recurring physical problems, a career end for Reus is not an option. Lever emphasized much more that his client would like to continue playing football. “So it’s quite normal that we have to look at other options,” he explained with a view to the expiring contract.

And his agent didn’t really want to deny the rumors about the Saudi club. “It’s normal for other clubs to be interested in a player like Marco whose contract is up in six months.”he said.

At the moment the attacker is still one of the top earners at BVB, but that could change with an extension. Because the Dortmunders should plan to link their contracts more to success than to deployment times.

He is currently preparing for the new season with the team at the training camp in Marbella. On January 22, Dortmund will continue with a home game against FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga.
