Borussia Dortmund and Marco Reus are still in exchange for a contract extension. The BVB captain is now only under contract in Dortmund until the end of the season. Both parties seem to be getting closer in small steps.
As the ‘Bild’ reports, another meeting between sports director Sebastian Kehl, Marco Reus and his adviser Dirk Hebe took place on Thursday. In the office of the black and yellow in Dortmund-Brackel, the contract design is said to have been discussed further, among other things, the final financial details are still at stake.
There is a new, performance-related one-year contract for the 33-year-old offensive player in the room. BVB wants to halve the salary to around six million euros.
A final agreement is still missing. Reus consultant Haken denied this in the past week, but also said that one is in a “good and goal-oriented exchange” with Borussia. Three days ago Kehl followed up and said about Reus and Raphaël Guerreiro (29), whose contract also ends in the summer: “No decisions have been made so far.”
