Car registrations rose 7.7% in April, reaching 34,311 units, reported the Association of Automotive Dealers (ACARA). While in April 2022, 31,866 vehicles had been registered.
If the comparison is against last March, there is a drop of 14%, since in that month 39,881 had been patented, although April had 18 business days, four less than March 22.
If the daily average of operations is observed, the 1,907 units of April exceed that of March, which had 1,813 patentings per day.
In this way, in the accumulated four months of the year, 155,069 units were patented, 11.6% more than in the same period of 2022, in which 139,002 vehicles had been registered.
The president of ACARA, Ricardo Salomé, pointed out: “We continue with good figures in April, which confirms a good start to the year with positive year-on-year growth, which shows that, beyond this complex situation, our sector is managing to channel that search to preserve value with the possibility of enjoying the acquired good”.
“So that this trend does not stop, the most important thing is to continue matching the available models, the vast majority of national origin, to the purchase intention of customers.“, he indicated.
“The production of the factories is accompanying the growing supply of national models,” they say from ACARA
Limited car supply
Clients “often approach a certain vehicle and understand the convenience of choosing another similar one for the opportunity that is presented, here is the key that explains why we continue to be active, with a limited supply but that responds to a sustained demand“, he added.
“It is also important that the production of the factories is accompanying the growing supply of national models, which today exceed 60% of the market, which gives us the idea that this trend will continue during the remainder of the year, more beyond exchange and electoral issues,” he said.
He explained that “it is not something that just happens, there is a work of creativity and knowledge of the commercial network to stimulate this reality”.
For example, there are dealerships that “understand the concerns of their customers and agree to the operation with price conditions at the time of delivery that leave all parties covered and compliant,” he stressed.
He maintained that “once again the experience of Argentine dealers becomes key to not stop this good moment of activity, which also has an impact on many related industries.”
