Cause for arrest against a man who allegedly assaulted a woman

The Police arrested a 38-year-old man on Tuesday, identified as Michael Rivera Cruz, at the gas station located in the San Fernando urbanization, in Bayamón, after allegedly violating the Law for the Prevention and Interversion of Gender Violence, in events that occurred on July 30.

According to preliminary information, Rivera, a resident of Cataño, threatened and attacked a female with his hands on different parts of the body on several occasions in the presence of minors.

The case was presented before Judge Catherine Brunelle, who after hearing the evidence determined cause for arrest and set a global bail of $150,000.

Agent Xiomara Méndez, under the supervision of Sergeant Ángel Nieves, both attached to the Intelligence and Special Arrests Bureau, took the arrested person before Judge Milagro Muñiz, who filled out the arrest warrant, while he was admitted to the Bayamón Correctional Complex, after failing to provide bail.
