Focused on Ekko, a very popular League of Legends champion able to manipulate time with his gadgets, CONV/RGENCE will focus on the city of Zaun, like the series Arcane could have done it at the end of 2021. The Double Stallion team will try to “show it differently”: more than a polluted industrial suburb condemned to supply the rich Piltover with labor, it is also a melting pot colorful where the awful rubs shoulders with the marvelous. In this context, Ekko will receive a visit from his future double, who reveals to him that a terrible catastrophe could ravage Zaun. Thus begins an investigation against the clock…

“He wrote his own story”

Well, we’re not three-week-old rabbits. Since old Ekko is built like a Belgian fries stand covered with hardened steel, and he stares at us with his fist clenched on the jacket, he has all the good bad plot twist who will ring the bells for us at the end of the course. But a good adaptation of League of Legends is also references, and known faces that punctuate the progression. Thus, the industrial spy-executioner Camille, the wolf-man Warwick and the murderess Jinx will try to shorten our life expectancy.

CONV/RGENCE will rely on its MOBA gameplay with the Timewinder, a projectile that can go back in time for a boomerang effect, and the Phase Dive, a dive capable of traversing matter. Playing with time and space will be essential to cross the different districts of Zaun. We will visit the cultivair, a gigantic indoor greenhouse owned by a baron of the underworld, the Scierie factory, and the transchaine, a mock monorail invented for the needs of the adventure.

Eric Angelillo, artistic director and co-creative director, split a ticket de blog PlayStation to explain their vision:Respecting Zaun’s technology and architecture was a priority, but we added colors, shapes, lines and more. Comics have been a significant source of inspiration; so we opted for strong strokes, inked shadows and halftone colors. Using halftones was a challenge, but it also allowed us to bring out elements from the foreground.

CONV/RGENCE will be released on May 23 on PC, PlayStation, Switch and Xbox. Note that it will be available on GOG from day one.
