Stefan Waghubinger: “I’m just telling you now”
Theater am Saumarkt, Mühletorplatz 1
New program! Right in the middle of life, sometimes angry, but always insanely funny, cynical and warm-hearted at the same time. These are attributes that one associates with this Austrian cabaret artist. He only says of himself that he pursues Austrian moaning and nagging, but with German thoroughness. In his fourth solo program he encounters daisies, butterflies and streamers in the stairwell. Stories emerge with astounding twists and turns, deeply sad and at the same time hilariously funny. Cynical and at the same time warm-hearted, banal and at the same time witty. An explanation of the really important things, why there is so much of it and why we have so little of it.

It feels related to many other animals, although it doesn’t quite resemble any of them. It is not a horse, not a cow, not a bird, not a hippopotamus. On the way to knowledge we accompany our little I am I.

Happiness, Money and Crisis | knowledge for life
AK Vorarlberg, Widnau 2-4
The latest book by Mathias Binswanger, “The Growth Compulsion” shows how a blessing can become a curse. Economic growth was long considered a promise of salvation. But since the early 1970s, criticism of growth from an ecological perspective has been growing. The question is: can we get out of this number? The promise of salvation has turned into a compulsion.
In the lecture at “Knowledge for Life” he will discuss central questions: How can the current crises also be seen as an opportunity? What does happiness mean in times of crisis? Is there a way out of the compulsion to grow? And finally: doesn’t money make you happy after all?
