The Munich I district court has sentenced a nurse to life imprisonment for two counts of murder and six counts of attempted murder.

On Monday, the court also determined the particular severity of the guilt. This means that an early release from prison after 15 years is almost impossible.

The court did not impose subsequent preventive detention, which the public prosecutor’s office had demanded, but imposed a lifelong ban on working as a nurse for the elderly.

The young man admitted in court that he had injected patients in a guard station in the Klinikum Rechts der Isar in Munich with drugs to calm them down.

Two of his patients died, three survived the total of six murder attempts. (dpa)
