Blizzard has just confirmed that the Diablo 4 open beta is coming next month. Several playable sessions are actually planned in March. Players will finally be able to experience the action-RPG before its scheduled release on June 6, 2023.
After more than 10 years of waiting since the release of Diablo 3, players will finally soon be able to experience the new installment of the famous hack ‘n’ slash franchise. The launch of Diablo 4 is indeed fast approaching with a release date scheduled for June 6, 2023, a bit later than expected. In the meantime, Blizzard has just confirmed that the Diablo 4 open beta is coming next month.
Two playable sessions are planned for next month. Reserved for players who have pre-ordered Diablo 4, the first open beta will run from March 17-19. Afterwards, a second open beta will be available to all players from March 24-26. This will therefore be the perfect opportunity to test Diablo 4 before deciding whether to pre-order it or not.
Players will get access to Diablo 4’s prologue and first act with the open beta
The Diablo 4 Open Beta will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. Additionally, players will need a Battle.net account to enjoy it. The game is actually downloaded from the Blizzard client.
Even though players will have 72 hours (144 hours for those who pre-ordered it) to experience Diablo 4 over the next month, they obviously won’t have access to the game’s full content. Blizzard has already warned that the open beta will only give access to the prologue and the first act. Some additional quests and dungeons after the first act will still be available.
In the open beta of Diablo 4, players will therefore not be able to go further than Act 1 in the main story. Character level caps will also be capped at 25. Of course, players will be able to transfer their progress to the final version of Diablo 4 at its output. The open beta of Diablo 4 therefore already looks promising for fans of the franchise.
