Goku has transformed into different and powerful versions of himself to star in epic battles and lead the Z Fighters throughout the years and the Dragon Ball canon, including manga, anime and other productions, but always with the same outfits .

As fans of Akira Toriyama’s work well remember, when he suddenly became an adult, Goku presented in his original design an orange outfit, with a belt, shirt, and blue boots to complete his suit. We also saw it in blue in Dragon Ball GT, while orange returned for Dragon Ball Super.

However, Toriyama’s plans were originally different. According to a report published on the website of 3D Games, the mangaka had created in 1987 a design for Goku with different colors and it has finally leaked on the Internet.

The adult Goku design that was never shown in the anime

The report adds the image of the unknown adult Goku design. He still honors his Saiyan name with orange as his main color, but now his boots are white, same color for the belt and even with the shirt under the sleeveless suit that slightly his appearance.

It is important to note that while this Goku outfit did not appear in the anime, it was seen by readers of the manga. He was introduced in only one chapter, 173, before being completely discarded, which is why the Dragon Ball fandom is mostly unaware of this suit.

It is unknown why Akira Toriyama did not continue this outfit with white details, probably to prioritize the orange and blue that predominated in the television adaptation.
