Education is advancing day by day, from new knowledge to new ways of presenting content. For this reason, it is necessary for teachers to have key tools related to technology and various formats to reach students directly and interactively.
The pandemic made it clear that new technologies have a fundamental role for education. Despite the fact that at some point technology was seen as a distracting element, new applications, new equipment and new platforms showed that they could be a great ally and also arouse great interest on the part of the students.
Time to invest for the 2023 school year
During the month of January, a large number of schools invest and train their teachers, who manage to further develop themselves as professionals with this type of initiative.
“It is key in training, to be able to discover and share among all levels, so that knowledge transcends. It is important not to lose focus and persevere to move forward, along the route of the Educational Project”, comments Milena Schublin Bisquertt, rector of the San Agustin’s School.
“Every year there are many topics that need to be studied in depth, but it is always sought when it is a space where not only knowledge is part of the sessions, but it is also expected that experimentation, feeling and sharing in community is part of the day to day”, he adds.
The importance of ICTs for education
An important reflection, if one considers that in Latin America and after the pandemic More than 70% of teachers are familiar with ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) and 90% would like to have tools to include them in their pedagogical plans.

“Today, a permanent process of curricular management at the institutional level is necessary for the processes of diagnosis, training, implementation and consolidation of the curriculum. In this line, teachers are required to be permanently updating their pedagogical knowledge and their skills for performance in the classroom,” he says. Training to improve the quality of education
Finally, Moises Perez, Researcher and Educational Advisor, UFT Academics, comments that “it is not just training, but an opportunity to establish a shared vision about conceptualizations, principles, strategies, methodologies, currents and/or approaches that lead you to improve the learning process. The focus should be on formal studies and pedagogical dialogue, where education professionals participate in a didactic way and with a view to establishing better quality educational practices”.
“Issues such as the metaverse, virtual, augmented, mixed reality, holograms or 360° tours are the main driving force behind rethinking the approach to training spaces that incorporate disciplinary, pedagogical and technological aspects in a virtuous circle, from a usability perspective, but above all aiming at the meaningful learning of the student body”, as stated by the expert in the use of technology in education from Fernando Checa García, from the European University of Madrid.
And although the specialist raises technology to something more extreme: the use of metaverses or even platforms like Second Life, he also raises the need for face-to-face education to see technology and training as tools that are no longer “optional”, but rather constantly necessary to improve the quality of education.
