Beyond minor objections, many of them related to the breaking of wire fences on the dark night of the death of Lolo Requeiro on October 6, the Juan Carmelo Zerillo stadium did not receive any major objections. The final report will arrive in a week, but Gymnastics already knows what issues to work on and all of them can be resolved promptly.

The Conmebol representatives were received by Vice President Salvador Robustelli and spent a whole day in the stadium, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., observing and analyzing every corner of the playing field as well as the stands, changing rooms, press area and service sectors.

El Bosque has no impediment in terms of capacity, since the stadiums set up for the South American Cup must have a minimum capacity of 10,000 spectators in the group stage, 20,000 for the round of 16 and quarterfinal matches, and 30,000 for the semifinals, a figure that scratches the stadium from the expansion of the Basile stalls and the use of the eighth that was previously used to house the visiting delegations.

After the check, there was only a minimal reference to the need for some more reflector, perhaps since the Confederation Club Manual for this edition of the cup increased the light values from 1,200 to 1,300 lux. The lux is the measurement used to determine the amount of light projected onto a surface.

Last November, the change of the luminaires was carried out, which were replaced by high-power LEDs. The work, carried out by the previous Board of Directors (with engineer José Luis Staiano in charge of the work) required an investment of close to 300 thousand dollars and was an essential requirement to participate this year in international competitions.

The acquisition of the lighting system was made to the company Synergia IT Group, which has already carried out the same work in the stadiums of Independiente de Avellaneda, Platense, Godoy Cruz de Mendoza, Sarmiento de Junín, Rivadavia de Lincoln and in the Augusto Mercado Luna Provincial Stadium. from La Rioja.

While the fan may notice at first glance that there are fewer luminaires on the grids (since 88 LED lights replaced the old 111 luminaires), the reality is that the power is much higher and energy consumption is also reduced. Anyway, after that fateful night of the game against the xeneizes, Gymnastics did not play at night again.

88 model SYD948 luminaires (1000 watts) were installed with sports angles that provide an average of 1200 lux on average, a homogeneity greater than 0.8, which will provide greater quality in audiovisual transmissions and will also allow lower consumption. All new wiring from the bases to the light grills was also done.

This new system replaced the existing one made up of 111 mh 2000w luminaires with an average consumption of 255kw/h, which generated an average field of 500 lux and with a homogeneity that does not exceed 0.5. Therefore, the addition of a few more lights will allow the standards increased by Conmebol for this edition of the competition to be exceeded without problems.

For the repair of the wire fences on Avenida 60, the materials have already been purchased to carry out the work to repair the breaks caused in the frustrated match against Boca Juniors. In addition, conditioning is being carried out in the changing rooms and in the area of the press box and transmission booths.

In addition, the stadium will have fiber optics, one of the major deficits and at the same time a mandatory requirement by the organization. Let’s remember that for each non-compliance, Conmebol imposes severe fines.

Gymnastics has already presented all the documentation and in principle all the papers are in order, so the report will not bring surprises.
