The first edition of this awards ceremony focused on rap and other related currents, will be held on May 11 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
For its first edition, Les Flammes has a renowned mistress of ceremony. This event, which wishes to reward rap and other affiliated currents and is intended to be an alternative to the Victoires de la Musique, will be presented by comedian and actress Fadily Camara.
In order to accompany the news, the organizers of the Flames shared a humorous teaser on their social networks in which we see Fadily Camara preparing for the event by revising the lyrics of some named artists – Gazo, Kerchak, Aya Nakamura.
But the comedian, in the middle of karaoke, is suddenly interrupted by his neighbor – who is not the rapper Kerchak – who asks him to make less noise.
Tiakola, Damso et Ronisia in favor
Organized by the Yard agency, the Smile agency and the specialized media Booska-P, the first edition of Les Flammes will be held on May 11 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
The event will be broadcast from 8:30 p.m. on the Booska-P YouTube channel, but also simultaneously on 6Play and delayed from 11 p.m. on the W9 channel. A broadcast on Twitch should also be announced soon.
In terms of nominations, Tiakola, a rising figure on the French rap scene, is by far the favorite of the Flames: the interpreter of Gasoline leaves with eight nominations, followed by Damso who wins five.
The ceremony will also honor female artists such as Ronisia who received three nominations, Aya Nakamura (two nominations) as well as newcomers to the rap scene: miss lou, Maureen and Lala &ce.
Three stages of voting
To arrive at this list of nominees, there were three main steps. First, industry players proposed their artists. A panel of journalists then selected ten nominees in each of the 21 categories.
This pre-selection was unveiled at the end of March and submitted to a final skimming: the vote of the public on a dedicated platform and of a jury of 23 professionals. Who will be the big winners? Answer, on the stage of the Châtelet theater on May 11th.
