FLORIDA: Jordan Rivera lost his Arm in the water, trying to hit an alligator before falling overboard. His friends drag him outside and discover the horrific consequences of the attack… his arm is almost gone.

He slips in and out of consciousness, screaming as those around him try to stop the bleeding. EMTs arrive and take him to a awaiting ambulance.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, a 23-year-old man was attacked Sunday morning in a pond behind Banditos Bar in Port Charlotte, FL.

It seems the incident could have been much worse… because once patrons told local news outlet The Daily Sun that they heard a man screaming in the dark and went out to look for him near the pond, leading to he got help from security.

The Good Samaritan, local resident Manny Hidalgo told the outlet… “He was screaming and swimming towards the shoreline. I ran and pulled him onto the sand. I was scared to go close to the water because it was dark outside ”

Florida officials say the victim suffered “serious injuries” in the attack … and the Associated Press reports that the man was taken to a hospital in Fort Myers, where his hand was amputated.

Wildlife officials say a nuisance alligator trapper was called and the 10.5-foot-long alligator was removed from the property.. The alligator was then “humanely killed.”

UPDATE: “Those gators, I didn’t truly understand them until I woke up in the hospital and, ‘Oh, gator got your arm,'” he told Southwest Florida’s NBC 2 from his hospital bed in the Gulf Coast Medical Center’s ICU. Rivera quite understandably describes his state of mind in the hospital as “confusion.”
