The former player of the Pumas de la UNAM of the Liga MX, Diego Rodríguez Miranda, better known as “Kalusha”, has been reported missing for their relatives in Mexico City, the capital of the Central American country, and they fear for their lives; This is because in 2022 he was arrested after being accused of drug trafficking.
According to the information provided by the journalist Carlos Jiménez, the relatives of this soccer player who debuted with the university institution in 2018 denounced Miranda as “disappeared”, because they have not known his whereabouts for several days.
“Former UNAM Pumas player disappears accused of drug trafficking in 2022 Diego Rodríguez “El Kalusha”. He was part of the Pumas quarry and played some games in the first division. In August they arrested him with weapons and drugs, the Prosecutor’s Office released him. Today his family denounces that he disappeared, ”Jiménez explained on his Twitter social network account.
Until now it is unknown if the authorities began a search process to find the former soccer player and thus be able to return him to his relatives.
Rodríguez Miranda was arrested near the Copilco and Pedregal neighborhoods of Santo Domingo after some police officers observed four subjects with a firearm; they later exchanged plastic bags for cash. At the time of his arrest, several bags of various drugs were found and seized, as well as two firearms, a scale and cash.
Regarding his participation within the UNAM Pumas, the player’s story began in 2014 when he joined the ranks of the Under-17 team; His qualities on the field of play allowed him to debut in the first division of Mexican football (Liga MX) in 2018 during a game against the Rojinegros del Atlas. However, he failed to get a starting position in the team and ended up losing opportunities.
Rodríguez ended up being excluded from the university students and in 2020 he signed for the Irapuato of the Premier League, a team where he did not have any action to later join the Pumas Tabasco; With this club he barely saw action in three games during the Apertura 2022 tournament.
