Apple TV+’s SF series returns with big ambitions.
After an already very enticing first teaser, season 2 of the adaptation of Foundation by David S. Goyer reveals a little more in a spectacular new trailer that promises conflict, action and monsters. This new delivery of ten episodes will be broadcast weekly from July 14 on Apple TV+, as well as on Canal Plus in France.
One hundred years have passed since season 1, but thanks to some rather clever script pirouettes, the duel between Emperor Cleon (Lee Pace) and Hari Seldon (Jared Harris) will continue, while Gaal Dornick (Lou Llobell) and Salvor Hardin (Leah Harvey) will also be back. “The Foundation is a threat to me“, recalls the Emperor, while an even more serious crisis is preparing, threatening the balance in place. Even the mysterious “sanctuary” of Terminus, teased since the very first episode of the series, threatens to wake up!
The synopsis of season 2 of Foundation :
In this second season, more than a century after the final episode of the first season, tension is rising across the galaxy. As the Cleons lose their power, a vengeful queen leads a conspiracy to destroy the Empire from within. Hari, Gaal and Salvor discover a colony of Mentalics with psionic gifts that threaten to alter psychohistory itself. The Foundation entered its religious phase, promulgating the Church of Seldon and causing the Second Crisis: the war with the Empire. This monumental adaptation follows a group of pivotal exiles, transcending space and time, as they face deadly crises, reversals of alliances and complex relationships that will prove to determine the fate of the humanity.
