Companies and educational institutions are offering free courses with training in various areas, from computer science to games. Some initiatives seek to train underrepresented groups in the technology market, such as black people, people with disabilities (PwD) and LGBTQIAP+.

Colégio Engenheiro Salvador Arena has 80 vacancies, half of which are for people with a monthly per capita family income of up to one and a half minimum wages. Eu Capacito is offering exclusive training for unemployed people.

Salvador Arena Engineer School

Colégio Engenheiro Salvador Arena has 80 free places for technical courses in Mechanics and Informatics. The courses are aimed at candidates who have already finished high school, but who do not yet have a university degree, and take place over three academic semesters, in face-to-face mode during the evening period.

Half of the vacancies are reserved for candidates with a per capita monthly family income of up to one and a half minimum wages. Those who have the profile for this modality can still request the exemption of the registration fee until the April 17th through the program’s website. The other half is offered to candidates of all income brackets.

The institution also points out that, regardless of family income, training is 100% free. Interested parties can apply via vunesp website until the day May 18th.

Aiming to make the technological market more diverse, Escola Kóru offers grants of up to 100% for training in Data Engineering and Software Development. Full scholarships are intended for women, black people, LGBTQIAP+, people with disabilities (PwD) and people without formal employment. Entries can be made by Koru School website.

DIO + iFood

iFood, in partnership with edtech DIO, is offering 5,000 free scholarships through the Potência Tech platform. The bootcamp “Potência Tech Angular Developer – Powered by iFood”, has 75 hours of educational experiences in Angular, intended for people with no experience, and offers initiation to computational thinking and the first steps in programming in Angular, CSS, HTML and Javascript.

The program is open to anyone who is interested, but is focused on reaching underrepresented and low-income groups, aiming to enhance learning and facilitate the connection of candidates to the job market. Interested parties can register via platform is DIO.

Free Market + Paid Market

Mercado Livre and Mercado Pago teamed up to launch a course aimed at black entrepreneurs in Brazil. The ‘Digital Entrepreneurship’ course is open for enrollment throughout the year and is offered 100% free and online. Registration is open and can be done directly at course platform.

I Enable

Eu Capacito, in partnership with Escola Superior de Redes (ESR), is offering 30 scholarships for the Agile Project Management course.

To participate, candidates must meet the following prerequisites: be over 18 years old; being unemployed; having attended all of high school in a public school; family monthly income of up to 6 minimum wages; have access to the internet and a computer, as well as interest and availability to take the course.

Candidates from all over Brazil can register until the day April 15through Eu Capacito website.

School Create Games

The Create Games School has vacancies open for the course that aims to train apprentices in game programming to work in the job market. The training is aimed at public school students and other interested parties in the age group from 12 to 29 years old.
