Louisville authorities arrested a suspect for allegedly stripping a woman naked and cutting her hair with a machete while she was chained to the ground for five hours.threatening to kill her last Wednesday.
The subject, identified as Moisés May, 36, was formally charged with kidnapping, in addition to two counts of assault and terrorist threat. He was also charged with intimidating a participant in the legal process, wanton endangerment and harassment, WDRB reported.
Authorities specified that the victim, Joanna Wilson, was rescued by authorities inside her home. The suspect, who had a child with her, he allegedly forced her to undress and chained her in the house they shared.
The incident occurred when the couple were arguing. The suspect forcefully restrained the victim from her, then slapped her face and cut her hair with a machete. An arrest report said May told him: “You’re going to get them tonight. I told you that the next time you leave and don’t come home I will kill you.”
“He made me undress, he put the chain around my neck. He called his friend and said, ‘I have to get this equipment to Lowe’s. When I come back, I’ll kill you’”, declared Wilson to the aforementioned medium. “I only had a few minutes to get out.”
The victim stated that May would have killed her if the neighbors had not called 911, as she opened a window and alerted nearby residents and yelled for help.
“The Fire Department couldn’t even break down the doors, it was bolted down that badly, all the windows were closed, all the exits, there is no exit in the house”Wilson added.
Reports stated that firefighters used a ladder to reach the second floor of the house, and bolt cutters were needed to free the victim.
“By leaving the victim chained in the house without the possibility of calling for help or leaving, the defendant manifested an extreme disregard for the value of human life by engaging in conduct that created a risk of serious bodily harm or death to the victim.” , the arrest report stated.
